Centralized Client Management (CCLM) team is a critical component of the Small Merchants organization within Global Merchant Services at American Express. CCLM is responsible for expanding relationships with our highest valued Small Merchants. The mission of CCLM team is to expand existing relationships through consultative conversations. CCLM is supported by a dedicated analytics team that strategically focuses on how to manage the large portfolio of merchants and guides the CCLM partners in their approach.  This team is an innovative, fast-paced and growing environment.  As the analytics point of contact for CCLM, the candidate will be responsible to help drive the ongoing growth and transformation of CCLM.  As such, flexibility, innovation and self-starter qualities are important for the candidate’s success.

  • Develop strong knowledge of the merchant and transaction data
  • Develop strong knowledge of the CCLM portfolio and the business
  • Be the key liaison for all analytics for CCLM and ensure that best-of-class analytics is provided for CCLM by marrying advanced data science with business needs
  • Be a key strategic advisor to the VP Head of CCLM
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of a CoE resource dedicated to the CMT portfolio


  • A Master’s Degree is required and a MBA is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and 4 – 5 year’s experience with targeting, segmentation
  • Knowledge of Amex systems and databases including RAMP and GMAR is a plus
  • Proficient with statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, etc.) and manipulating large data sets and samples
  • Proactive thought leadership in developing analytics and analytic tools to drive performance improvement
  • Excellent business writing and presentation with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and influence strategy
  • Knowledge of AXP merchant business and data environment is a plus
  • Quantitative degree or equivalent experience as well as an understanding of payments a plus
