The Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS) and the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics (BMI) in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) are seeking a tenure track faculty member with expertise in methodological research applicable to basic biomedical science, clinical research, epidemiologic research, and/or public health. This faculty appointment will be on an annual pay basis and therefore will include summer compensation.

The Department of Population Health Sciences is an interdisciplinary department with the goal of understanding, preserving, and improving the health of populations and individuals. The Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics is an innovative and leading research hub and training center for biomedical data sciences. The individual selected for this role will contribute to the advancement of the PHS and BMI missions through research, teaching, and service. Both PHS and BMI are vibrant, interdisciplinary research and teaching environments, with a strong track record of collaborative and innovative research. The successful applicant must be able to positively interact within a collaborative community of scholars working in biomedical science, clinical research, epidemiologic research and/or public health throughout SMPH and across campus.

The Department of Population Health Sciences is the tenure home for this position, with a joint appointment in Biostatistics and Medical Informatics. Depending on the selected candidate’s expertise and interests, additional joint or affiliate appointments in other departments are possible. The percent split between departments will be determined based on the candidate’s profile and interests.
