Leadership for Educational Equity is a nonprofit leadership development organization inspiring and supporting a network of civic leaders to eradicate the injustice of educational inequity.
Through one-on-one coaching, fellowships, workshops, and resources, LEE works to develop and inspire its members individually and collectively, across all disciplines – as policy makers, advocates, elected leaders and community organizers. LEE membership is free and currently open to all Teach For America corps members and alumni. Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE) seeks a Salesforce Administrator for the Technology Operations (Tech Ops) Team to provide product management and support for cross-team/cross-functional Salesforce technology and projects. Reporting to the Senior Director of Technology Operations, this role will be responsible for product management, research, implementation, process creation and improvement, and technical expertise. They will be responsible for ownership of the smooth day-to-day operations of the system and have opportunities to contribute creatively to its evolution.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills and possess a combination of traits including creative vision and collaborative spirit. The administrator will effectively build and leverage relationships across the organization to uncover needs and opportunities, and effectively problem-solve in order to make recommendations and garner support for proposed solutions. The administrator also contributes strategically to the Tech Ops team and looks for opportunities to increase impact through reporting back to the subteam and larger team on learnings from their work. This role is an excellent opportunity for a junior administrator with an interest in continuous learning on the Salesforce platform and working in a highly customized Salesforce environment with heavy use of automations and integrations.
Position Location: Flexible
Travel Requirements: Up to 15% by plane for team retreats, meetings, and staff conferences (*no current travel due to COVID pandemic)
Product Management (30%)
Support the infrastructure, technical functionality, security, integrations, and custom third-party-hosted application of the Salesforce platform, including tasks like creating automations and supporting new-feature requests.
Help manage day-to-day and training of database assistant in managing mid-level support of Salesforce
Manage vendors (independently from SD) to execute development work and work within designated budgets for Salesforce platform
Create documentation for all supported platforms, packages and integrations (both technical and process)
Define best practices and norms for Technology Operations Subteam (Tech Ops) to work across platforms
Project Consulting and Assistance (15%)
Serve as technical expert and collaborate with Tech team project managers on projects from start to finish.
Help ensure that projects and tasks are on track by understanding and reporting on progress to SD and/or project managers. Work to get projects and tasks back on track, as needed.
Collaborate with other Technology team members to ensure that their projects do not conflict with other systems/projects.
Clearly explain to staff during projects and support why certain decisions are made
Expertise-sharing and partnership (15%)
Work within the team and among teams to deliver technology solutions that further the organization’s mission, core values and goals, particularly the values of meaningful impact and member driven, to help ensure every student has the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
Participate in cross-functional team meetings to build business partnerships through recommended solutions
Participate in opportunities to give feedback on team strategy and better understand the strategic direction of the team and the organization, including technology leadership team meetings, as invited
Partner with other product managers and support staff to implement solutions that wholistically meet the problem and integrate with the current tech ecosystem and processes
Partner with other tech staff and teams to manage and execute new processes, designs, improvements or functionality
Platform and Process Recommendations and Improvements (20%)
Make recommendations to SD for improvements in functionality and processes when they arise; Influence SD’s, Tech VP and other stakeholders to put projects on the approved projects list for the Tech team.
Make and prioritize recommendations and execute on improvements that deliver measurable impact
Implement strategies into Tech strategy team projects and work that increase user adoption, integrations/process improvement, and data.
Look for opportunities to connect the dots between org-wide priorities and other work within the Tech team and outside the team.
Maintenance and Integrity for Owned Platforms (10%)
Manage monthly maintenance tasks to upkeep integrity of processes, data, and platform
Build and connect new fields to Salesforce and trouble-shoot any data issues
Support data and tech assistants in data audits and maintenance for Salesforce platform
Manage Salesforce users and permissions
Maintain Salesforce integrations, including mapping data between Salesforce and other systems
Maintain custom applications within the Salesforce platform
Execute system-wide improvements, including roll-out of Salesforce seasonal releases
Conduct thorough user acceptance and regression testing of all new or updated applications, features, or functionality.
QA test vendor work
Other projects or tasks as assigned by the Senior Director
4+ years of professional work experience
3+ years Salesforce experience, preferably in administrator or equivalent role
Experience building and troubleshooting Salesforce automations with technologies such as Process Builder, Flow, and Workflows
Experience working with installed packages, integrations, and/or connected apps including data mapping between systems
Exceptional organization and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize competing obligations and consistently meet deadlines
Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills and possess a combination of traits including creative vision and collaborative spirit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a facility with translating technical concepts to conversational language for the purpose of education and/or guidance
Strong ability to discuss the business problem with a user then transform that to Salesforce technical requirements
Experience doing user acceptance testing and understanding of how to negative test and think of unique/edge cases
Demonstrated experience working with and influencing multiple stakeholders who may have different priorities and requirements
Provides excellent customer service and enjoys working with people of all skill levels
Very comfortable with written communication and virtual tools (i.e. Slack, Zoom, Google Hangouts), experience in a virtual environment a plus

Salesforce Certified Administrator
Project management experience
Experience working in Salesforce Lightning Experience
Experience supporting end users and/or facilitating training
Experience working with a vendor or consultant

Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team and across lines of difference including identity, tech savvy, communication styles, and job level
Experience translating initial requirements to the problem to be solved and evaluating the potential impact and cost of different solutions
Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE’s mission and theory of change
