USGS is hiring new leadership as the USGS Water Data Science Branch Chief. This is a permanent federal position (GS14) to lead a dynamic team of experts and make a significant contribution to the field of water data science. The position will open on USAJOBS.gov next week, as soon as May 22nd. This vacancy will be open for 10 days or until 50 applications have been received. If the 50-applicant cap is met, the position will close to applicants on that day. 
 
This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership in developing and maintaining data science as a discipline within the USGS. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of tools and techniques for data-intensive research, data analytics, and data visualization products and services within the USGS Water Resources Mission Area.
