The Department of Industrial & Enterprise Systems Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for an open rank research faculty position to establish a vigorous and externally funded research program related to autonomous systems, field robotics, and human-robot interaction, with applications in areas such as construction, manufacturing, and agriculture. The duties associated with the position also includes teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in systems engineering or related areas.

Competitive applicants will show the promise of making a substantial impact on autonomy and field robotics as demonstrated by publications, invited talks, extramural funding, professional service contributions, and other recognized scholarly activities.

This position requires a Ph.D. in systems engineering or a related field and familiarity with one or more of these fields: field robotics, decision and control, and human/machine systems.

This is a nine-month, full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track position. Responsibilities will include research, teaching, and service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Full consideration will be given to applications received by March 16, 2023. The proposed start date is August 16, 2023; however, this is negotiable.
