Her main focus is on the front mile of data science - product design, data exploration, prototyping. She is also passionate about data visualization, data journalism and music. In the past she worked for a Swiss insurance company La Mobiliere and pharma giant Roche. \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tKate Kosten<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\tKate is the Head of AI and Legal Tech Innovation at Homburger in Zurich, Switzerland. While pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Fribourg, she worked as a research assistant in the Intelligent Information Systems group at the Institute of Computer Science at the ZHAW on projects related to relational database and knowledge graph data access. She is passionate about optimizing algorithms and processes, with a focus on leveraging state of the art AI technologies for real-world applications. Her current work focuses on business related data science and backoffice optimization, for example sales and marketing and service predictions, recommender systems and NLP. Previously she worked at Roche on diagnostic device performance optimization and implemented biostatistic methods. \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tAnita Schmid<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\tAnita is a Head of Data Science & Business Intelligence at Migros Supermarkt AG, part of the largest retailer in Switzerland, where she leads several cross-functional agile development teams. Previously, she worked as a Data Scientist and Data Engineer herself. She holds a Masters in Physics and a PhD in Neuroscience from ETH Zurich. Formerly, she obtained a double bachelor\u2019s degrees in Physics and Astrophysics at UC Berkeley and a PhD in computational astrophysics at the UC Santa Cruz.
