ICF is currently seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer to support a large federal IT system modernization program to improve the lives of children in foster care. You will work with our customer and program subject matter experts to understand the business goals and objectives of the system. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide oversight in modifying or enhancing existing CB data reporting systems. Travel may be expected on an as needed basis, including to onsite offices in Washington, D.C. Expected travel is approximately 4 trips a year, averaging 4 days per trip. All travel will be within the United States and US Territories. Location: Fairfax, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducting ongoing reviews and assessments of system functionality and performance

Proposing and implementing solutions (if required) to modify or enhance system functionality

Assisting in the transition of system components to new platforms as needed

Monitoring life cycle and compatibility of system specific software and developmental software with OCIO and end users

Provides expert guidance to federal, state and tribal staffs on best practices for various system development and procurement approaches, such as waterfall and agile, to implement child welfare systems

Provides expert guidance to DSS on review and evaluation approaches to review CCWIS projects, such as stage gate reviews, in waterfall or agile development environments

Provides expert guidance on and develops evaluation measures for reviews, such as extrapolating performance measures to evaluate state and tribal CCWIS

Provide expert guidance where appropriate in written reports based on his/her analysis of State and Tribal information systems

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

US Citizenship

Possesses 5+ years of experience in reviewing large information systems

2+ years experience analyzing legacy systems (code, requirements, functional outputs) in order to develop baseline system requirements

Familiarity with federal cybersecurity requirements
