DIRECTOR, CONSUMER DATA SCIENCE AND ANALYTICS 

Do you have a passion for digging deep into data to deliver new insights that can impact millions of customers?  We are the largest venue-based entertainment network with digital jukeboxes and other interactive entertainment systems in 65,000 bars and restaurants across North America.  We’ve also got the leading jukebox mobile app with over a million active users, and the largest deployed network of proximity beacons in the US – all providing a treasure trove of transactional and behavioral consumer data.  We are looking for a creative data whisperer/wrangler to roll up their sleeves and unlock our data’s  potential as an engine for top line and bottom line growth.

Responsibilities:

The Director, Consumer Data Science and Analytics will be responsible for increasing revenue growth by accessing and analyzing consumer purchase and behavioral data and developing insights to increase customer engagement, optimize the product portfolio and assess areas for growth.  Reporting to the SVP, Marketing you will work closely with the product management, marketing, advertising and sales organizations. The Director will work closely with his peer groups as well as finance and the technical database teams to provide thought-leadership, prioritization and delivery of insights across the TouchTunes suite of hardware and software products.  The Director must be a thought-leader with a curious analytical character, striving to identify and convey analysis-based insights while embracing the analysis and data itself.

Specific Responsibilities include:

Understanding and driving the company’s data management and consumer analytics strategy.
Leveraging existing  tools and technologies (and sourcing others as necessary) that organize company data and measure consumer online and mobile analytics
Working with the finance, technology and product teams on the development of reporting and dashboards to be used by management and departmental teams.Leading analysis across the following types of business priorities:
 
Marketing and Business Analysis

Understanding key behaviors that drive consumer acquisition, retention, and engagement – using best practices to leverage data from third party tools (e.g. Google Analytics, MixPanel) and the internal data warehouse
Campaign effectiveness and creation of working templates and dashboards
Behavioral and Product Analytics
Optimizing funnel conversion on mobile and jukebox
Merchandising music and price-volume understanding
Structure and support optimization of A/B testing
Channel Sales Strategy Analysis
Segment-based analytics
Opportunity Sizing
Model revenue, break-even analyses and ROI
Analyzing and understanding Consumer direct targeting and tracking using beacons
Advertising Support
Profiling audience from internal and third-party tools (e.g. Comscore)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, mathematics, accounting or related field,
8 to 10 years of work experience in business intelligence and analytics
Must have a minimum 3 years’ experience in ecommerce or payments
Expert level skills in OLAP, BI, Analytics Pivot Table usage – ability to both describe, specify and perform complex data analysis
Experience working with statistical methods typical for analytics packages (SPSS, Statistica or similar)
Deep Understanding of statistics, customer profiling and segmentations, including SQL and other statistical analysis software
Experience in location based geographic analysis tools and techniques for population distribution and behavior reporting
Must have experience with web and mobile analytics platforms / software packages (e.g. Google Analytics, MixPanel, Kahuna) as well as consumer and demographics profiling methodologies
Proven results tying analytics to impactful business results – viewed as a critical business partner, integral to strategic and tactical product, marketing and sales decisions
Proven track record of implementing Consumer Insight programs showing progression from development of reporting, analytics and data solutions.
Knowledge of emerging trends and practices in customer intelligence and data warehouse fields

Required Skills/Competencies:

Willingness to delve into the details as well as manage and assist with projects/initiatives
Gifted ability to render complex information simply, and to expose information not obviously visible or implied in the data
Ability to translate complex numerical insights into visual representation

Preferences:

MBA preferred
