Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the product team’s ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity through automation, tools, process changes, and best practices. As the main point of contact for all DevOps activities within the product team, the DevOps Engineer III plays a crucial role in the Software Development/Testing Lifecycle, participating in technical reviews and maintaining the roadmap. This role also serves as a mentor for other DevOps engineers and contributes to fostering a DevOps culture at Verisk SBS.

Key Responsibilities:

-Promote the DevOps culture throughout the development lifecycle, from design to production support.
-Define and implement new standards and policies across all products.
-Architect infrastructure with automated deployments and builds using Azure DevOps.
-Implement robust CI/CD pipelines for scalability and efficiency.
-Collaborate with developers to optimize the tech stack based on Microsoft technologies.
-Enhance the team’s ability to deliver applications and services seamlessly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Design, develop, and implement infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
-Ensure security is a key consideration during design and development.
-Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for seamless deployments.
-Monitor and maintain system health and performance.
-Identify and implement DevOps best practices.
-Mentor other DevOps engineers and participate in technical reviews.
-Provide third-level support to SREs and development teams.
-Write technical design documents.
-Follow up on the implementation of strategic improvements and best practices in each DevOps team.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

-Proven experience in DevOps principles and methodologies (Agile, GitOps).
-Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
-Strong understanding of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
-Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
-Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).
-Solid knowledge of Linux and scripting languages (Bash and PowerShell preferred).
-Experience in infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting.
-Proven seniority/experience in a DevOps/SRE/Platform engineering role.
